For acccesing all kinds of softwares for free , Please move to the bottom of this post and follow the prompts after the end of the count down timer. Please be carefull and follow them correctly to complete all the steps.
 Step 6/11

To change your Blogger website's domain from a ".blogspot.com" domain to a custom domain (e.g., "yourdomain.com"), follow these steps:

First, you need to purchase a custom domain from a domain registrar such as Namecheap, GoDaddy, or Google Domains. Once you have purchased the domain, make sure to keep the login credentials handy.

Log in to your Blogger account and select the blog that you want to set up a custom domain for.

  1. Go to the "Settings" section and click on "Basic".
  2. Under "Publishing," click on the "+ Set up a third-party URL for your blog" link.
  3. Enter your custom domain (e.g., "yourdomain.com") in the text box and click on "Save."
  4. You will now see an error message with two CNAME records. Copy these two CNAME records as you will need to add them to your domain registrar's DNS settings.
  5. Log in to your domain registrar's website and navigate to the DNS settings for your domain.
  6. Add the two CNAME records that you copied from the error message in step 6.
  7. Go back to your Blogger account and click on "Save" again.
  8. If you have added the CNAME records correctly, you should see a message saying "Your custom domain has been successfully set up."
  9. Now you need to redirect your old "blogspot.com" domain to your new custom domain. To do this, go to your Blogger dashboard and click on "Settings" > "Basic". Under "Publishing", click on "Edit" next to your old ".blogspot.com" domain and check the box that says "Redirect [your-old-blog].blogspot.com to [your-new-domain].com."
  10. Finally, click on "Save" and you're done! Your Blogger website should now be accessible via your custom domain (e.g., "yourdomain.com") instead of the old ".blogspot.com" domain. Note that it may take a few hours for the changes to take effect due to DNS propagation.

What is Custom domain and its functions ?

A custom domain is a unique web address that you can purchase and use to replace the default domain that comes with your website, such as a ".blogspot.com" domain for a Blogger website. Instead of having a web address like "yourwebsite.blogspot.com," a custom domain allows you to have a more professional and memorable web address, such as "yourwebsite.com."

The main function of a custom domain is to make it easier for visitors to find and remember your website. It also makes your website appear more professional and credible, which can help attract more visitors and improve your website's overall image.

In addition to improving your website's appearance and accessibility, a custom domain also provides a number of other benefits, including:

  • Branding: A custom domain allows you to create a unique brand identity for your website and business.
  • SEO: A custom domain can improve your website's search engine optimization (SEO) by making it easier for search engines to find and index your website.
  • Email: A custom domain also allows you to create professional-looking email addresses, such as yourname@yourwebsite.com, which can improve your business's image and credibility.
  • Portability: If you ever decide to switch web hosting providers or platforms, having a custom domain makes it easier to move your website without losing traffic or search engine rankings.

Overall, a custom domain is an essential part of establishing a professional online presence and building a successful website or business.

In this tutorial am going to specifically stick to namecheap as an example of a domain name provider you can use but there are others which you can use as stated earlier.

  17. Wait for a few minutes or hours for the changes to take effect.

That's it! Your Namecheap domain is now linked to your Blogger website. It may take some time for the DNS changes to propagate, so don't worry if it takes a while for your website to start working with the custom domain.

Be aware that it can take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours or even up to 48 hours for your custom domain to reflect on your site. This time frame is due to the process of DNS propagation, which is the process of updating the servers across the internet with your new domain name and directing it to your site.

During this time, some visitors may be able to access your site using the new custom domain, while others may still see the old domain. This is because some internet service providers (ISPs) may update their DNS servers faster than others, so it can take some time for the changes to be fully propagated across all servers.

In general, you should expect to see your custom domain fully reflected on your site within 24-48 hours of making the necessary changes to your domain's DNS settings. If you're still having issues after that time frame, it's best to reach out to your domain registrar or web hosting provider for further assistance.

You have to wait 45 seconds.
